Heavy-Duty AMR Implementation for Large Structural Components

Introduction

In a structural manufacturing facility producing large beams and columns, the requirement was to design an efficient internal material handling system for oversized and heavy components (10 tons).

Instead of adopting conventional crane-based handling, the facility opted for a heavy-duty AMR automation approach from the outset, enabling flexible, ground-level transport without imposing layout constraints.

We collaborated with OEM partners to deliver a software-driven AMR solution tailored for large-format industrial movement.

Problem Statement:

Operational Requirement:

  • Handle large dimensions and long structures. Transport 10 tons beams and columns.

Key Challenges:

  • Handling Oversized, Heavy Structures
    • Large beam sizes required stable and controlled movement
    • High payload demanded precise handling logic
  • Avoiding Space-Intensive Systems
    • Traditional solutions like cranes would:
      • Require large operational clearances
      • Restrict layout flexibility

"Designed for extreme payloads, built for unrestricted movement—enabling 10 ton structures to flow seamlessly across the factory floor."
